About

A biography of me, Lee Taylor:

I live in Bedworth

, Warwickshire. It’s a small town in England, not too far from where the legendary William Shakespeare was born.
I grew up watching the old school 70’s/80’s horror before the big ban arrived in the UK, and I remember watching – The living dead at Manchester Morgue – when I was about 11 years old. That zombie movie totally freaked me out and I couldn’t move from my seat for quite a while afterwards.
In 1993, I did a practice story while at college. It was a horror story based on killer rats. I never finished it. I still have it lying around, so maybe one day I will re-write it. That was the only time I tried the writing thing, as other commitments got in the way, but in 1999, I bought my first computer and my first novel came to life.
M.D. or now titled – ZOMBIES. – Morgue of the Dead – is my first completed novel. It was written many years ago, but I never did anything with it until a few years ago. After receiving endless feedback from other wannabe authors, critiques, friends, and even getting advice from the likes of – Brian Keene & David Moody – I decided to self-publish it, and I have a plan to develop it into a possible trilogy. I’ve also been talking to screenwriters and audio companies about possible ideas. So far there’s been no change, but I’m hoping for development soon.
My second novel, which has reached the end of its first draft, is based on the old saying – Night, night, sleep tight & don’t let the BEDBUGS bite – It’s based in the year 2050, and is a sci-fi style, alien bug story. In 1977, one night of murders left the small town of Lemonsville in a state of shock. The crime was never solved, but in the year 2050 the same type of murders are happening again. The chief of police is the grandson of a witness from the original night of horror, and he has to open up the mind of his aging relative to hopefully solve the crime before more deaths arrive.
My writing style may be different to other writers, as I tend to write like I’m inside my novel and it reads a bit like a movie. The feedback I’ve received from readers of my zombie novel have all been the same, they felt like they were inside my story when they read it and my story was one of the best described action horrors that they’d ever read. I suppose my aim is for readers to vision what I saw when I wrote my story. If I can achieve this then I am happy.
My main aim in life is to tell my stories to the world, write novels that are easy to follow and the reader becomes entangled in the crazy world of my mixed up mind.

Below is a review I received from APEX reviews recently –

Official Apex Reviews Rating:

In the small town of Clifton Falls, an experimental fertilizer designed to kill plant-eating bugs is tested at a local farm in order to help the crops grow…little does anyone know, though, the drug soon has quite unintended results: it manages to raise the dead, creating a ghastly horde of zombies that soon begin feasting on their living counterparts…suddenly finding themselves overwhelmed by a growing army of the undead, Clifton Falls’ local authorities are forced to scramble to keep the horrific nightmare under control – lest the plague spread beyond their borders, leading to unimaginable chaos and destruction…

Taut and fast-paced, M.D. (Morgue Of The Dead) is a nail-biting suspense thriller. In creative fashion, author L.A. Taylor successfully flips the standard zombie theme on its ear, treating the reader to a gruesome smorgasbord of horrific highs and lows – even going so far as to include deadly “zombified” animals. With deeply engaging plotlines and gripping action, M.D. reads like a combination of “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “Night Of The Living Dead, ” as unsuspecting characters find themselves in a race against time to bring order and resolution to a deadly situation spiraling quickly out of control. Just like the characters, readers are sure to become similarly enraptured in the throes of their perilous plight – and die-hard fans of the zombie genre will surely not be disappointed. A surprisingly enjoyable read.
