Best New Vampire Tales

BEST NEW VAMPIRE TALES (vol. 1)

Reading Period: Reading period starts now and ends April 30th 2010, at 11:59 pm.

Word Count: Tales less than 10,000 words are preferred; longer stories are okay, but they are a hard sell.

What we want: This is a reprint anthology for a new company called Books of the Dead Press. Vampire stories only. If your story does not have a vampire in it, it is not right for this anthology. Looking for the best of the bunch here. The year your story was released does not matter; whether or not it was previously released does.

What we don’t want: Stories that have appeared on personal websites, blogs, etc. This anthology is for stories that have been sold to a publisher.

Payment: Authors receive 1¢ per word, plus one contributor copy of the book.

Submission guidelines: Email your manuscript as a doc attachment to BestHorror2 (AT) gmail.com. Preferred font: Garamond. Please double space, number your pages and use standard manuscript formatting. A list of credits is not needed; stories will be judged by their own quality and originality. Please include the name of the publication that your story appeared in and the copyright year. Multiple submissions are okay. Flash fiction is okay.

Return time: Stories will not be accepted or rejected until after the reading period has ended and all the stories have been read.
